Since I last wrote, Rangers form has been nothing but average. We have now accumulated 3 draws and 1 defeat in the League. Which is not the best of starts. With the pressure slowly building up on Magilton the next 3 games are vital. Scunthorpe United away and Peterborough at home are games we really should be taking six points from. If we don’t serious questions should be asked. I feel what QPR really miss is a 15-20 goal a season man. If you look at Cardiff City they have Chopra. Coventry got Morrison and Newcastle has even got Ameobi. Rangers need somebody like this. I feel Vine could do the job but for some reason Magilton prefers Helguson ahead of him. After another wasteful show from Helguson on Saturday I think it will be very different in the coming weeks.
A Carling Cup 2nd round game against, Accrington Stanley on Tuesday should be very comfortable for us. However it’s in the League where we must improve very quickly.

The atmosphere was electric at Loftus Road for the first home game of the season.
The first Magilton league game, Holloway’s return (again) the expectation was high. The first half Rangers were on top but poor finishing just like last season cost us again. Blackpool took the lead with a goal from Ben Burgess on 37 minutes. It was a ball over the top that done us again. The second half Rangers pressed but waste finishing from Helguson, whom I said would be useless this season. Along with Balanta, Taarabt and Mahon it was poor. We got away with a fluke goal from right back Peter Ramage on 86mins whose cross looped over Blackpool keeper Rachubka. A much needed improvement please lads for the next game!!!!

QPR ended the Pre Season with a impressive 3-0 victory over Southampton on Saturday. I was particularly impressed with Angelo Balanta on the left wing. He took his goal well and showed pace, skills and an eye for goal. Were looking creative and ready for the Blackpool game on Saturday 8th August.

Being a Queens Park Rangers fan you always receive a fair amount of stick.
But now being one of the richest clubs in London, this season we must finally deliver. Last seasons campaign was memorable with three different managers, rumours the chairman picking his favourites in the team and basically mediocre football.
Flavio Briatore needs to let the manager pick the team and stay out of the dressing room. This time Jim Magilton in charge, for how long is anybodies guess. He is not the most inspiring choice, but must be given a chance. Ipswich did outplay us twice last season with ease. We need to hit the ground running or it will then replicate last year, with fans moaning and turning on the management team early. We have our star players back and fully fit. The likes of Rowan Vine and our own ‘White Pele’, Akos Buzsaky were sorely missed last year. We also have the advantage of having a well established and Premiership class keeper in Radek Cerny. He was outstanding last year and he will be vital to where we finish. The Rangers defence looks strong, however we do need cover in the full back areas.
Our Midfield is the real key to where we will finish this season. We have some very fast, talented wingers in Cook and Routledge. When their on form they can tear apart any Championship defence. Leigertwood and Rowlands, (when the captain is fit that is) provide experience. However Gavin Mahon should have been out the door a long time ago. Hopefully with the purchase of Alejandro Faurlin he will be only be used in desperation. I feel Hogan Ephraim, Adel Taarabt and Matteo Alberti will have good seasons, their young and have energy and can play all along the midfield.
QPR’s strikers leave a lot to the imagination though. Heidar Helguson came with a reputation of being quite good at this level. He really wasn’t. After looking decent on his loan spell when signed permanently he looked lazy, unfit and very wasteful in front of goal. Dexter Blackstock also looks like he will be leaving this summer which is a real bad decision. Patrick Agymang was injured for a major past of last year so his form will be important to us this year.
I hope Magilton has an idea in mind to why we have let go our best forward, a decent left back and a very good second choice keeper leave the club. We have a decent youth and reserve set up, but nobody is a stand out star. However, this year I think and pray we go up. This will be via the Play-Offs. Simply because we like to do things the hard way. I can see it being another long and rocky season at Loftus Road. The time is now for Rangers to get back to where they below, along side our West London rivals of Fulham and Chelsea in the Premiership.

Dowies gone, he was never the right man for the job. The board’s timing is a bit strange as we have one of the toughest games of the season so far on Saturday (Reading away). I can see it being an Italian in charge next, probably Mancini or Vialli will be in the hot seat next.

QPR return to Ninian Park Cardiff on Tuesday evening to battle with the Blue Birds, Cardiff City. City came to Loftus Road in August and took all 3pts quite easily with a 2-0 win. They currently sit 9th in the Championship and with a win in the FA Cup on the weekend will see a high moral in the Cardiff camp. Its always difficult to go to Cardiff but I feel we will get a draw this weekThe game against Barnsley on 16th February has been postponed due to the Tykes’ involvement in the FA Cup that weekend.

The QPR Boys head up to Bramall Lane Saturday to clash with Sheffield United. The last time the Rs went there we walk away with a 3-2 victory back in 2006. After two impressive victories in the league the Rs will head to the lane with confidence after their FA Cup day out at Stamford Bridge. With a host of new signings hoping to make their league it will be an exciting game up in Yorkshire.

They have lost the plot at home we may have a chance Saturday, we just have to defend properly!!! As we have sold out the away end it should be a great atmosphere when we go to little Watford town, which as we know is a small town in Luton!!!

I haven’t wrote for a while, since my absence we got a draw at home to Wolves which is not bad, but we are rock bottom of the Championship which obviously is not good. We need to win on Saturday at home to Colchester which if we don’t we don’t deserve to stay up!
Watford away has sold out so over 2,000 QPR fans will see the boys last game of 2007. And the FA Cup game at Chelsea will also see the famous Shed End at Stamford Bridge full of QPR fans, which will be a site to remember!!
